About chatBTB
What chatBTB is
chatBTB is a chat site where you can question an MLB, NHL, NBA, NFL and college football betting analyst. The analyst is a language model, and it is given stored MLB, NHL, NBA, NFL and college football schedules, results, statistics and betting prices. It identifies missing information and distinguishes facts from judgements.
It is for information only and is not betting advice. The model can be wrong. chatBTB is new and has no track record to quote. It is not a sportsbook, it takes no bets, and it is not affiliated with MLB, the NHL, the NBA, the NFL, the NCAA or with any sportsbook.
Where the odds come from
Betting odds and player-prop prices come from the sportsbooks' own public pages: Pinnacle, Bovada and FanDuel, read every two hours, and from ESPN. Each price says when it was seen; check your own book before betting.
Baseball data
MLB schedules, postseason results, probable starters, statistics and boxscores come from MLB. Public game prices and injury statuses also come from ESPN. Capture timestamps accompany the model's data; probable starters and stored batting orders must be checked before betting.
Fresh game-specific posted starting orders and bullpen roster lists also come from MLB. Only a complete official posted order is labelled confirmed; it can still change. Bullpen eligibility and recent pitch counts do not establish a manager's readiness decision.
Game-hour outside forecasts come from the National Weather Service for US parks and Environment and Climate Change Canada for Toronto. Forecasts carry issue times and units. Outside wind and rain do not describe playing conditions under a fixed dome, and retractable-roof status must be verified.
Hockey data
NHL schedules, results, standings, rosters, team and player statistics and boxscores come from NHL. Public prices come from ESPN, Pinnacle, Bovada and FanDuel; listed injury statuses come from RotoWire's public table. Capture times accompany the data. Rosters and goalie comparisons are not confirmed game lineups; missing injuries do not imply health. Verify current goalie and scratch announcements.
Basketball data
NBA schedules, results, standings, rosters, team and player statistics, game summaries, injury statuses and public game prices come from ESPN. Capture times accompany the data. Starters are confirmed only where a game summary marks them, and missing injuries do not imply health. Player and team props come from the sportsbook boards ESPN publishes (DraftKings today): milestone ladders such as 20+ points with prices, and some over/under lines without a price. Compare your own book before betting. chatBTB has no WNBA or college basketball data.
College football data
Every game with at least one FBS team, FCS opponents included: schedules, results, AP and Coaches polls, standings, closing lines, box scores and injury statuses come from ESPN, as do the game prices and, while a game is on, the live score and live odds. Player props come from Pinnacle, Bovada and FanDuel, read every two hours (hourly on Saturday afternoon), so they can be up to two hours old. ESPN lists few college injuries; a team with none listed may still have some. Betting trends count 2024 onward.
Where the football data comes from
Schedules, results, closing lines, play-by-play, rosters, depth charts, injury reports and player statistics come from the nflverse project, used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Play charting (play action, motion, blitzes) is from FTN Data via nflverse, under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. chatBTB loads these files nightly, derives its own summaries from them, and is not affiliated with either project or with the NFL.
